Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. There is focal follicular cystic change observed in the left lobe sections. Stroma shows fibrosis, interstitial hemorrhage and cholesterol crystals deposition. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy. One reactive lymph node is included, free of metastasis.</p>
<p>Lt. Thyroid lobe nodule with cystic components.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy specimen : Rt. lobe measured 3.5x2x1.3 cm, Lt. lobe measured 4.5x2.5x2 cm and isthmus is 1x1 cm. Thyroid capsule is intact. Serial sectioning revealed brownish colloid nodule in left lobe measured 2.5x2x1.8 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Nodular colloid hyperplasia with gross cystic change. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
