<p class="ql-align-justify">Appendicular lumen is full of neutrophils that extend into wall in between the mucosal associated lymphoid tissue together with lymphocytes and plasma cells. Such infiltrate extends to periappendicular fat. Impacted fecolith is noted. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of appendicular tumors.</p>
<p>Colicky abdominal pain.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Appendicectomy specimen measured 6.5 cm long with attached mesenteric fat measuring 5x2 cm, showing mucosal ulceration with wall thickness up to 0.5 cm.</p>
<h3><strong><em><u>Appendicectomy: </u></em></strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Acute (suppurative) on top of chronic appendicitis with periappendicitis.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
