Sections show an invasive carcinoma formed of solid groups, nests and anastomosing sheets of squamous cells exhibiting moderate anaplasia and mitosis, with foci of keratin pearl formation. The tumor demonstrates an aggressive infiltrative growth pattern with direct destruction of the trabecular bone. The surrounding stroma is desmoplastic with a chronic lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate and focal necrosis.
Large aggressive destructive left-sided maxillary bone and sinus mass with soft tissue involvement, hard palate invasion, crossing midline, and associated with tooth mobility.
Three soft tissue pieces measuring 1.5 x 1.4 x 0.8 cm in aggregate, with the largest piece measuring 1x 1 x 0.8 cm. There is a separate, small bone fragment measuring 0.5 cm in greatest dimension.
