<p class="ql-align-justify">Preparations show dense population of neutrophils with some small lymphocytes as well as many cell debris. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Right-sided pleural effusion (secondary to right pleuropneumonia).</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">One smear was prepared and stained from submitted 6 ml yellowish fluid.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Pleural fluid, cytology:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Marked (suppurative) inflammatory changes.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignant cells.</strong></li><li><strong>Category II according to The International System for Reporting Serous Fluid Cytology, ISRSFC.</strong></li></ul>
