There is extensive and near complete ulceration of intestinal mucosa with related dense infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes, plasma cells and macrophages. Inflammation extends to serosa with capillary proliferation and fibrosis. Peritoneal tissue shows similar inflammatory infiltrate with associated fat necrosis and fibrosis. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of malignancy.
