Tumor Type: POORLY DIFFERENTIATED ADENOCARCINOMA.
Intestinal obstruction.
1- Labeled as intestinal mass: The specimen consists of a segment of small bowel measuring 12.5 cm long, with attached mesenteric fat measuring 7 x 2.5 cm. On opening, a polypoid mass is identified, measuring 2.5 x 2 x 2 cm. The mass is located 6 cm from the proximal surgical margin and 4 cm from the distal surgical margin. The mesenteric fat is dissected, yielding five (5) lymph nodes, the largest of which measures 0.4 cm in maximum dimension.
2- Labeled as metastases from omentum: fatty tissue measuring 1.9x1.5x1 cm, totally embedded.
3- Fluid from abdominal cavity: 10 ml yellowish fluid, from which one smear was prepared and stained.
SMALL INTESTINE, RESECTION:
Poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, grade 3 (HIGH GRADE).
