Duodenal mucosa show focal moderate villous atrophy associated intraepithelial lymphocytosis and crypt hyperplasia with submucosal mild infiltrate of lymphocytes and plasma cells. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Patient presenting with bloating and positive TTG IgG antibodies underwent a gastroscopy that revealed mild pangastritis, with duodenal biopsies currently pending to rule out villous atrophy (celiac disease).
