Sections from both sites show an ulcerating mucosa with related diffuse and interglandular infiltration by intermediate sized to large undifferentiated cells. There is superimposed inflammatory cell infiltrate with focal necrosis. Possibilities include large cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and undifferentiated carcinoma. Marker study (CK, LCA, CD20, chromogranin, synaptophysin and Ki-67) is advised to reach a definitive diagnosis.
