There is focal ulceration of the gastric mucosa with the non-ulcerated areas showing moderate atrophy of glands and dense infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. Some neutrophils are seen infiltrating glands indicating activity. H. pylori characteristic forms are not seen colonizing glands. Fragments of small intestinal mucosa are seen infiltrated by the same inflammatory cells. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
