Smear shows many small and large tight clusters of large atypical cells with hyperchromatic nuclei. Some of these clusters showing focal glandular formations and exhibit moderate anaplasia. Background shows a moderate number of mature small lymphocytes and neutrophils with some reactive mesothelial cells.
Patient diagnosed with ovarian cancer, underwent a diagnostic paracentesis for evaluation of ascitic fluid.
One smear was prepared and stained from submitted 10 ml pale yellow fluid.
