Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Submitted brain glial tissue shows dense infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes, plasma cells and macrophages with related capillary proliferation and cell debris. No evidence of granulomas or tumors in this material.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">History of fever , headache, conscious disturbance and right-sided body weakness. MRI: 4 x 3.3 x 5.1 cm intra-axial multiloculated cystic lesion seen at left frontal lobe with marked surrounding vasogenic edema.</p>
<p>Two soft tissue fragments measuring 4.5x3.5x1.5 cm and 2.8x2.5x1 cm, with cut section showing cystification in an area of 2.3x2 cm.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Left frontal lobe lesion, biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Dense inflammatory reaction consistent with brain abscess.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy.</strong></li></ul>
