Soft tissue and skeletal muscle heavily involved by dense inflammatory process including foreign body-type multinucleated giant cells and palisading epithelioid histiocytes organized around irregular, clear spaces and focal collections of acellular keratinous debris. This reaction is accompanied by dense lymphocytic and neutrophilic infiltration amount at abscess formation with related exuberant reactive fibrosis that extends into the adjacent skeletal muscle bundles. No intact epithelial lining is identified, suggesting complete cyst wall rupture and subsequent degradation. There is no evidence of caseous necrosis, or malignancy.
Hard left neck swelling at the angle of the mandible (involving the parotid gland) present for two months, which showed multiple hypoechoic areas on ultrasound, raising clinical suspicion for either T.B. adenitis or a dermoid cyst.
Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1.5x1x0.7 cm, totally embedded.
