Gall bladder wall shows mild to moderate fibrosis with focal mucosal ulceration and dense infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes and plasma cells that extends into the surrounding soft tissue. Glands exhibit focal cystic dilatation and appear to be entrapped within muscular coat (Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses). No evidence of atypia or malignancy.

Gall bladder 4x1.5 cm with hemorrhagic inner lining. Wall thickness ranged from 0.2-0.5 cm. No gross tumors or stones are seen.
