Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Most of submitted fragments showing inflamed colonic mucosa. Few fragments showing focally ulcerated colonic mucosa, infiltrated by malignant tumor composed of complex, anastomosing glandular and cribriform architectures, with solid discohesive sheets. The tumor cells exhibit marked anaplasia, with active mitosis. Surrounding stroma exhibits desmoplastic reaction, with associated mixed acute and chronic inflammatory cell infiltrate.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Polypoidal mass at the prehepatic flexure.</p>
<p>Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Colon mass, endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Adenocarcinoma, grade 2. </strong></li></ul>
