Sections show focally ulcerated mucosa with related diffuse infiltrate of intermediate-sized atypical cells with non-cleaved nuclei. Anaplasia is moderate. Picture is suspicious of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (possibly Burkitt's type). Marker study (CD20, CD3, CD10, CD99, TdT and Ki-67) is recommended for confirmation and definitive typing.
