Sections reveal a fibro-osseous lesion characterized by a moderately cellular fibrocellular stroma composed of spindle-shaped fibroblasts arranged in a haphazard or whorled pattern. Within this stroma, there is a significant amount of mineralized tissue consisting of irregular, anastomosing trabeculae of woven and lamellar bone. Osteoblastic rimming surrounding these bony islands is noted. In several areas, there are small, basophilic, spherical calcifications resembling cementum-like globules. There is no evidence of cellular atypia, pleomorphism, or increased mitotic activity, which supports a benign process.
