<p class="ql-align-justify">Intact rectal mucosa with mild reduction in the number of mucigenic cells and moderate infiltration by lymphocytes, plasma cells and neutrophils. However, crypt abscesses are not identified. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.</p>
<p>Bleeding per rectum.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Four small soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.6 cm, totally embedded in one cassette.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Rectum, endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Moderate chronic non-specific colitis with active inflammatory ulceration.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for dysplasia or malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
