Smears show abundant thick and thin colloid with folding and cracking artifacts. The sparse cellular component consists of benign follicular cells arranged in loose clusters and singly. These cells display uniform, small, round nuclei and scant cytoplasm. Scattered foamy macrophages are present in the background. No cellular atypia or evidence of malignancy is seen.
Neck swelling of 6 months duration.
