Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Smears are hemorrhagic and show abundant thin and thick colloid and scattered bland looking follicular cells. Background also shows scattered hemosiderin-laden macrophages, and lymphocytes. Follow up (clinical and sonographic) is recommended. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells. </p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Neck swelling, found on ultrasound to have an enlarged left thyroid lobe containing two large, suspicious (TIRADS IV) nodules that displace the trachea to the right.</p>
<p>Fourteen smears were submitted and stained.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Thyroid nodules, guided FNAC: </u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Benign cytology.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignant cells. </strong></li><li><strong>Consistent with colloid nodule (Bethesda class II).</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><h5><strong><u>Comment:</u></strong></h5><h5 class="ql-align-justify">According to Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytology (BSRTC), for colloid nodule (benign cytology, Bethesda category II), the risk of malignancy is 0-3%, follow up both (Clinically and radiologically) is recommended.</h5>
