<p class="ql-align-justify">Maternal surface of placenta shows a hematoma with related ischemic necrosis of chorionic villi, indicating placental insufficiency due to focal premature placental separation as a result of hemorrhage. However, no evidence of calcification, villitis or amnionitis. The overall picture is consistent with uteroplacental insufficiency due to placental separation. </p>
<p>Placenta of abortion.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Two bloody soft tissue pieces measured 3x2x1.3 cm and 2.3x1.8x1 cm, both were totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Uterine contents:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Uuteroplacental insufficiency due to premature placental separation as a result of hemorrhage.</strong></li><li><strong>No evidence of infectious or inflammatory placental pathology</strong></li></ul>
