Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Gastric mucosa showing mild atrophy of glands and moderate infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. There is evidence of inflammatory activity manifested by some neutrophils infiltrating glands. H. pylori characteristic forms are not seen. No evidence of intestinal metaplasia, atypia or malignancy in submitted material.</p><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Ulcerated, polypoid gastric mass involving the stomach corpus.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.7 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<h3><strong><em><u>Stomach, Endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Chronic atrophic erosive gastritis with associated moderate inflammatory activity. </strong></li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Negative for atypia and malignancy.</strong></li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Recommended for follow up (see comment).</strong></li></ul><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p><p class="ql-align-justify"><strong><u>COMMENT:</u></strong></p><p>In view of clinical data regarding presence of a mass lesion, this biopsy is considered to be non-representative and re-biopsy is recommended after treatment of active inflammation.</p><p><br></p><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p>
