Smears are atrophic showing squamous cells mainly parabasal with few intermediate and superficial cells. Many maturing metaplastic squamous cells and endocervical cells are not seen. Smear is satisfactory for evaluation. No evidence of cytolysis. No evidence of viral, fungal or trichomonal infection. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.
History of cervical cancer undergone total abdominal hysterectomy. Pap smear was taken from lateral vaginal wall and vaginal vault.
Two unstained smear slides labeled as from 1 vaginal vault and 2 from lateral vaginal wall, were submitted and stained with pap.
