Gastric mucosa body type showing mild atrophy of glands and mild infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. Few neutrophils are seen infiltrating glands thus indicating activity. H. pylori characteristic forms are not identified. No evidence of intestinal metaplasia, atypia or malignancy.
The patient presents with epigastric pain and a history of H. pylori-associated antral gastritis diagnosed two months prior, with a current follow-up gastroscopy revealing persistent antral gastritis for which repeat biopsies have been taken.
