<p>Submitted smears are hemorrhagic showing a background of scanty colloid with scattered variable sized fragments of small and large follicular formations formed of tight follicular, mature looking cells. No evidence of malignant cells. Picture is consistent with a benign follicular nodule (adenomatoid nodule).</p><p> </p>

<p>Submitted 3 unstained smears, pap stained.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Right Thyroid lobe nodule, guided FNAC:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Benign cytology.</strong></li><li><strong>Consistent with adenomatoid follicular nodule.</strong></li><li><strong>(Bethesda class II).</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><h5><strong><u>COMMENT:</u></strong></h5><h5>According to Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytology (BSRTC), for adenomatoid nodule (benign cytology, Bethesda category II), the risk of malignancy is 0-3%, follow up both (Clinically and radiologically) is recommended.</h5>
