Left Modified Radical Mastectomy for Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.
Left modified radical mastectomy: fibrofatty tissue measuring 22 x 11.5 x 4 cm, covered partially by a 17 x 8 cm skin ellipse with unremarkable nipple and areola with an attached axillary tail measuring 8 x 5 x 3 cm. Sectioning reveals an ill-defined, solid, firm, creamy-colored mass measuring 6 x 5.5 x 3 cm located in the medial half. The mass is 1 cm from the deep margin, which is the nearest resection margin, while the superior, inferior, medial, and lateral margins are 3 cm, 1.5 cm, 6.5 cm, and 5 cm away, respectively. The remaining breast tissue shows scattered focal fibrotic changes, and a total of 15 axillary lymph nodes were dissected from the axillary tail, with the largest measuring 1.5 cm.
