There is focal ulceration of colonic mucosa with reduced mucigenic cells and related active dense infiltration by neutrophils and lymphocytes, amounting at crypt abscess formation in some areas, along with the presence of prominent lymphoid follicles. No evidence of dysplasia. No evidence of malignancy.

Rectum, endoscopic biopsy:
