Microscopic Description
Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Submitted material showing partialy ulcerated epithelium with atypical infiltrate composed of sheets of large round cells with vesicular nuclei, sometimes hyperchromatic and active mitosis. These sheets are separated by stroma rich in small lymphocytes. Main possibilities are undifferentiated carcinoma and diffuse large cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Marker study is recommended for definitive diagnosis (CK, P63, EBV, CD20, CD3, CK5/6).</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Right cervical lymphadenopathy and a nasopharyngeal mass.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Nasopharyngeal mass biopsy: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1.3x1 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Nasopharyngeal mass, incision biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Atypical round cell infiltrate. </strong></li><li><strong>Recommended for immunohistochemical studies. </strong></li></ul>
