Intact colonic mucosa with mild reduction in the number of mucigenic cells and moderate infiltration by lymphocytes, plasma cells and neutrophils. However, crypt abscesses are not identified. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.
Abdominal pain. Endoscopy: the apparent mucosa of the transvers and descending colon is edematous with loss of vascular pattern. Entamoeba vermicularis warms is seen.
