Right Ovarian fibrotic cyst wall lined by a single layer of cuboidal non-mucigenic cells. No evidence of epithelial piling up or cytological atypia. Left ovary is unremarkable. Endometrium is non-secretory, it is formed of focally branching glands lined by 1-3 layers of cells. Stroma is cellular. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Islands of these endometrial glands and stroma are seen entrapped deep within myometrium. Both fallopian tubes are unremarkable. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Abnormal vaginal bleeding, bulky uterus and ovarian cyst.
Panhysterectomy specimen; uterus measures 5x4.5x3.5 cm with myometrial thickness of 1.7 cm, and endometrial thickness of 0.4 cm. Myometrium shows focal trabeculation and two intramural fibroids, the largest measured 0.7x0.7 cm. The left ovary measured 4.5x3.5x3 cm, almost replaced by a unilocular cyst filled with yellowish fluid and intact capsule. The right ovary measures 3.4x2.5x1.7 cm, grossly unremarkable. The right and left fallopian tubes measured 5.5 cm and 4 cm in length, respectively, and are grossly unremarkable
