Endometrial polyp and endometrium shows hyperplastic endometrial glands is non-secretory, it is formed of slightly branching and moderately cystic glands lined by 1-2 layers of cells. Stroma is cellular. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Some of the hyperplastic endometrium are seen embedded within superficial myometrium. Myometrial tumors are benign leiomyomas formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. Cervix shows mild endocervicitis. Both ovaries show corpora albicans. Fallopian tubes are unremarkable.
Abnormal vaginal bleeding with endometrial polyp and multiple fibroids
Panhysterectomy : uterus measured 9.5×7×5 cm, cervix measuring 2.5 cm in length. On sectioning, the myometrial wall thickness was 2.5 cm and revealed three fibroids, the largest of which measured 1.7×1.5 cm. The endometrium measured 0.8 cm with endometrial polyp measuring 5.5x2 cm. Rt. and Lt. ovaries measured 2×1.5×1 cm, each and fallobian tubes measured 5 cm and 6 cm, respectively.
