Smear shows many small and large tight clusters of large atypical cells with hyperchromatic nuclei. Some of these clusters showing focal glandular formations and exhibit moderate anaplasia. Background shows a moderate number of mature small lymphocytes and neutrophils with some reactive mesothelial cells.
Abdominal distention, whose ultrasound reveals large bilateral ovarian masses, moderate ascites, and omental thickening that are highly suggestive of advanced ovarian malignancy with peritoneal spread.
One smear was prepared and pap stained from submitted 20 ml pale yellow fluid.
