Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Smear shows many small and large tight clusters of large atypical cells with hyperchromatic nuclei. Some of these clusters showing focal glandular formations and exhibit moderate anaplasia. Background shows a moderate number of mature small lymphocytes and neutrophils with some reactive mesothelial cells.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Abdominal distention, whose ultrasound reveals large bilateral ovarian masses, moderate ascites, and omental thickening that are highly suggestive of advanced ovarian malignancy with peritoneal spread.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">One smear was prepared and pap stained from submitted 20 ml pale yellow fluid.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Ascitic fluid, cytology:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Positive for malignant tumor cells, consistent with metastatic adenocarcinoma of possible primary Mullerian origin.</strong></li><li><strong>(Category V according to The International System for Reporting Serous Fluid Cytology, ISRSFC). </strong></li></ul>
