Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Sections show fragmented polypoid tissue lined by extensively ulcerated respiratory epithelium. The underlying edematous fibrovascular stroma exhibits prominent granulation tissue heavily infiltrated by a mixed acute and chronic inflammatory infiltrate composed of lymphocytes, plasma cells, histiocytes, and neutrophils. No granulomas, dysplasia, or malignancy are observed.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Active chronic suppurative otitis media with a right middle ear polyp and mucopurulent discharge.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">One soft tissue fragment measured 0.4x0.3x0.2 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Right Middle Ear Polyp, Excision: </u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Inflammatory aural polyp consistent with active Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
