Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows dense infiltration by lymphocytes amounting at the formation of lymphoid follicles with intact active germinal centers. Related follicles are degenerated with evidence of oxyphil change of the follicular epithelium. No evidence of malignancy or hyperfunction.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Mild diffuse enlargement and heterogeneous texture of the thyroid gland highly suggestive of Hashimoto's thyroiditis.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy, received as two separate lobes in two containers, the right lobe measuring 4 x 3.3 x 1.5 cm and the left lobe measuring 6 x 4.5 x 2 cm. Both lobes exhibited multinodular cut section. Thyroid capsule is intact.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Hashimoto's thyroiditis.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
