<p class="ql-align-justify">Sections examined from the large nodule show encapsulated tumor formed of small and large follicles lined by relatively large follicular cells having abundant eosinophilic and granular cytoplasm. Stroma is rather delicate and vascular with areas of interstitial hemorrhage. Adjacent thyroid tissue is compressed. Tumor capsule is well developed withlut evidence of capsular infiltration Rest of thyroid gland shows nodular hyperplasia where follicles are variable in size, full of thick colloid and lined by mature epithelium. Section from the smaller nodule revealed colloiid nodule. No evidence of hyperfunction or malignancy.</p><p><br></p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid carcinoma diagnosed by FNAC.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total thyroidectomy: The first lobe measured 3.5 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm; on sectioning, it revealed two grey nodules. The first nodule measured 1.7 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm, while the second nodule measured 0.4 mm. The second lobe measured 3 x 1.5 x 1 cm and exhibited a fleshy cut surface. Isthmus measured 1 cm. Thyroid capsule is intact.</p>
