Endometrial polyp and endometrium shows hyperplastic endometrial glands is non-secretory, it is formed of slightly branching and moderately cystic glands lined by 1-2 layers of cells. Stroma is cellular. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Some of the hyperplastic endometrium are seen embedded within superficial myometrium. Cervix shows napothian cyst. Sections from Rt. ovary show islands of hyperplastic, focally cystically dilated, endometrial glands and compact endometrial stroma. Lt ovary shows corpora albicans. Fallopian tubes are unremarkable. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Postmenopausal bleeding.
Panhysterectomy: uterus measured 8.7 × 5.5 × 4 cm, cervix measuring 2.5 cm in length. On sectioning, the myometrial wall thickness was 2 cm. The endometrium measured 0.5 cm with an endometrial polyp measuring 2 × 0.6 cm. The attached left ovary measured 2 × 1.5 × 1 cm, and the left fallopian tube measured 5 cm. The right fallopian tube measured 5.5 cm. A separately received right ovary measured 5 × 4 × 3 cm; on sectioning, it revealed a solid, firm, grey area measuring 3 × 2.5 cm, with multiple cysts, the largest of which measured 1.5 × 1 cm.
