Endometrium is hyperplastic and non-secretory. It is formed of moderately branching and focally crowded glands separated by cellular stroma and lined by 2-3 layers of cells. No evidence of atypia. Groups of such hyperplastic endometrium are seen embedded within superficial myometrium. Cervix show Nabothian cyst with mild endo and ectocervicitis. Both ovaries show cystic follicles and corpora albicans. Fallopian tubes are unremarkable. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Menorrhagia with chronic pain.
Panhysterectomy specimen; the uterus measures 10x7x4 cm with a myometrial thickness of 2 cm and an endometrial thickness of 0.7 cm. The cervix is 3 cm long. The right ovary measured 2 × 1.5 cm and contained a unilocular cyst measuring 1.5 × 1 cm. The left ovary measures 3x1.7x1 cm and is grossly unremarkable. The right and left fallopian tubes measured 5 cm and 6 cm in length, respectively, and are grossly unremarkable
