Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Thyroid gland shows dense infiltration by lymphocytes amounting at the formation of lymphoid follicles with intact active germinal centers. Related follicles are degenerated with evidence of oxyphil change of the follicular epithelium. No evidence of malignancy or hyperfunction.</p>
<p>Multinodular goiter.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Total Thyroidectomy: consisted of an two lobes and an isthmus with intact thyroid capsule. The first lobe measured 6 x 4 x 2 cm, the second lobe measured 4 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm, and the isthmus measured 1.5 cm in length. Upon sectioning, both lobes exhibited a colloid and grayish cut section.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Total thyroidectomy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Hashimoto's thyroiditis.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
