Benign tumor formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. No evidence of malignancy.
The patient presented with a small bowel obstruction secondary to adhesions and, on examination, was found to have a large, irregular, hard-to-firm mass extending from the uterine fundus to the cervix, from which a punch biopsy was taken.
Rubbery whitish soft tissue mass measured 2x1.7x1.5 cm, totally embedded.
