Endometrium shows hyperplastic endometrial glands, is non-secretory, it is formed of slightly branched glands lined by 1-2 layers of cells. Stroma is cellular. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Some of the hyperplastic endometrium are seen embedded within superficial myometrium. Myometrial tumors are benign leiomyoma formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. Cervix is unremarkable. Both ovaries shows corpora albicans and cystic follicles. In addition, the largest cyst in the left ovary shows cyst wall lined by several layers of polygonal luteinized cells with interstitial hemorrhage into wall. Fallopian tubes are unremarkableIs. There is no evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Fibroid uterus with adenomyosis.
Panhystecyomy: The uterus measured 10.5 × 8.5 × 6 cm, with a cervix measuring 3 cm in length. On sectioning, the myometrial wall thickness was 3 cm with trabeculations. The endometrium measured 0.5 cm. The uterus showed multiple fibroid masses; the largest measured 3.5 × 3 × 3 cm and had a solid, rubbery grey cut section. The right ovary measured 2.5 × 1.7 × 1 cm and showed five cysts, the largest measuring 1 cm. The left ovary measured 2 × 1.5 × 1 cm and showed three cysts, the largest measuring 1.3 cm. Both fallopian tubes measured 5 cm, each, both are grossly unremarkable.
