<p>Sections show skin with an intact or slightly atrophic epidermis overlying a well‑circumscribed epithelial proliferation in the superficial and mid dermis, often centered on hair follicles (folliculocentric). The lesion is composed of malformed/distorted hair follicles and multiple branching, anastomosing cords and thin strands of small squamoid to basaloid cells, arranged in a lace‑like or radial pattern around follicular structures. Tumor cells have scant cytoplasm and uniform, basophilic nuclei without significant pleomorphism; mitotic figures are rare and atypical mitoses are not identified. Numerous small horn/keratin cysts and abortive hair follicle–like structures are present within the lesion, sometimes with infundibular differentiation. The stroma is scant to mildly fibrocellular, usually composed of compact collagen. no evidence of malignancy and excision looks complete. </p><p><br></p><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p>

<p class="ql-align-justify">Two partially skin covered soft tissue fragments collectively measured 1.5 x 1 x 0.8 cm, totally embedded.</p>
