A benign tumor formed of proliferating fibroblastic cells with focal whorling and palisading pattern. Cytoplasm is scanty and cell borders are ill-defined. Scattered dystrophic calcified bodies (psammoma bodies) are seen. No evidence of anaplasia and mitosis is not active. Possibilities for this tumor include; fibrous meningioma and schwannoma. Immunohistochemical study (S-100 protein, SOX-10, EMA, PR, KI-67 and GFAP) is recommended for definitive typing.
