<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Myometrial tumor is a benign leiomyoma formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. No evidence of malignancy.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Submitted fragments and endometrial covering the fibroid show endometrium and polypoid lesion formed of non-secretory hyperplastic endometrium, it is formed of branching glands exhibiting moderate cystic dilatation with focal crowdness. Glands are lined by 1-3 layers of cells. Stroma is compact with scattered thick walled blood vessels. No evidence of complex pattern, atypia or malignancy.</li></ul>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Menorrhagia secondary to a fibroid uterus and endometrial polyps.</p>
<p>Two samples were received:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">1- Fibroid: well circumscribed rubbery whitish mass measured 2.5x2x2 cm, totally embedded.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- D&C biopsy: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 4.5x4x0.7 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><u>Uterus, myomectomy:</u></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Leiomyoma.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><em><u>D and C biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Moderate simple endometrial hyperplasia + Hyperplastic endometrial polyp. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for atypia and malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
