Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Myometrial tumor is a benign leiomyoma formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. No evidence of malignancy.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">Smears are hemorrhagic and show a mild number of neutrophils and small lymphocytes with few reactive mesothelial cells. No evidence of atypical or malignant cells.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Fibroid uterus causing menorrhagia.</p>
<p>Two samples were received:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">1- Fibroid: well circumscribed rubbery whitish mass received into 4 pieces collectively measured 8x7x4.5 cm, the largest measured 6x5x4.5 cm.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Ascitic fluid sample: 6 ml reddish fluid, one smear was prepared and stained.</p>
<p><strong><u>Uterus, myomectomy:</u></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Leiomyoma.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul><p><strong><em><u>Ascitic fluid, cytology</u></em></strong>:</p><ul><li><strong>Mild inflammatory changes.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignant cells. </strong></li><li><strong>Category II according to The International System for Reporting Serous Fluid Cytology, ISRSFC.</strong></li></ul>
