The tissue shows a polypoid mucosal projection composed of bland, proliferating biliary epithelium forming branched, papillary, and mildly cystically dilated tubular structures with fibroedematous cores, lacking dysplastic changes. The adjacent gallbladder wall exhibits mural fibrosis, smooth muscle hypertrophy, deep mucosal invaginations (Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses), and a patchy lymphoplasmacytic inflammatory infiltrate throughout the stroma.

Received was an intact gallbladder measuring 9.0 x 5 x 2 cm. The lumen was filled with green fluid (bile). Upon opening, the mucosal surface is green and exhibits focal ulceration. The gallbladder wall measured 0.3 cm in maximum thickness.
