Gastric mucosa showing superficial erosions and moderate glandular atrophy with moderate infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. Lymphocytes aggregates in some foci forming lymohoid follicles with active germinal centres. Neutrophils are seen infiltrating glands thus indicating activity. H. pylori characteristic forms are present. Areas of intestinal metaplasia are noted, however, no evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Vomiting and epigastric pain, gastroscopy revealed gastritis with a granular appearance and antral ulcers.
Soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.6 cm, totally embedded in one cassete.
