Gastric mucosa from both sites showing mild atrophy of glands and moderate infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. There is evidence of inflammatory activity manifested by some neutrophils infiltrating glands. H. pylori characteristic forms are not identified. No evidence of intestinal metaplasia, atypia or malignancy in submitted material.
Abnormally thickened gastric mucosa.
Two biopsies were received:
1- Pylorus: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.5 cm, totally embedded.
2- Funded: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.7 cm, totally embedded.
