Intact colonic mucosa mildly infiltrated by lymphocytes and plasma cells with lymphoid follicles. Mucigenic cells are intact. Some neutrophils are seen infiltrating glands but there is no evidence of crypt abscesses. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.
Chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain, weight loss, and recurrent nausea, a previous endoscopic finding of moderate duodenal atrophy, and a positive celiac serology (Anti-Endomysial 1/40), with a recent investigation including a normal colonoscopy with multiple random biopsies taken from the entire colon.
