Diagnosis
<p class="ql-align-justify">Fragments of hyperkeratotic and acanthotic stratified squamous epithelium with elongated rete ridges. The underlying dermis exhibits a dense mixed inflammatory infiltrate of lymphocytes, plasma cells, and neutrophils, with prominent granulation tissue composed of proliferating fibroblasts and new capillaries. Fragments of the nail plate are present adjacent to the ulcerated epithelium, consistent with local tissue trauma.</p>
<p>Ingrown nail of the big toe.</p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">None fragment measured 2x1.5x0.4 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Ingrown nail of the big toe, excision:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Onychocryptosis (Ingrown Toenail) with chronic inflammatory granulation tissue.</strong></li><li class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Negative for malignancy. </strong></li></ul>
