<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Terminal ileum mucosa showing moderate infiltration by lymphocytes and plasma cells. Villi are intact. Some small fragments show totally ulcerated mucosa with associated dense inflammatory infiltrate. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of malignancy.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Polypoid lesion formed of hyperplastic intact colonic glands with preserved mucigenic activity. Stroma is fibrotic and shows mild chronic inflammatory reaction composed of lymphocytes and plasma cells. No evidence of specific granulomas. No evidence of crypt abscesses. No evidence of atypia or malignancy.</li></ul><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p>
<p class="ql-align-justify">Nodular mucosa of the terminal ileum with fissured edematous mucosa and a sessile polyp in the descending colon.</p>
<p>Two biopsies were submitted:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">1- Terminal ileum: soft tissue fragments collectively measured 0.6 cm, totally embedded.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2- Colonic polyp: soft tissue fragment measured 0.6 cm, totally embedded.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Ileal endoscopic biopsy:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Moderate chronic non-specific inflammation with active inflammatory ulcer.</strong></li><li><strong>Negative for malignancy.</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><em><u>Colon, polyp, excision:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li><strong>Hyperplastic polyp, inflamed. </strong></li><li><strong>Negative for dysplasia and malignancy.</strong></li></ul>
