Endometrium show hyperplastic endometrial glands, are non-secretory, formed of slightly branched glands lined by 1-2 layers of cells. Stroma is cellular. No evidence of complex glandular pattern. Some of the hyperplastic endometrium are seen embedded within deep myometrium. Myometrial tumor is a benign leiomyomas formed of whorly bundles of mature smooth muscles separated by a fibrous stroma. No evidence of malignancy. Cervix shows mild endocervicitis. Ovarian cyst is lined by several layers of polygonal luteinized cells with focal interstitial hemorrhage into wall. Wall of cyst showing cystic follicles. Both ovaries shows corpora albicans. Fallopian tubes are unremarkable. No atypia or malignancy.
Panhysterectomy.
Panhysterectomy specimen: The uterus measured 8.5 x 7 x 5 cm and the cervix measured 3 cm in length. On sectioning, the myometrial wall thickness measured 2.5 cm and the endometrium measured 0.3 cm in thickness showing focal trabeculation. The endometrial cavity showed a fibroid mass (fibroid polyp) measuring 4.5 x 4 x 3.5 cm, which was solid and greyish in color. The right and left ovaries measured 2.5 x 1.5 x 0.6 cm and 2 x 1.5 x 1 cm, left ovary contained two unilocular cysts, the largest of which measured 0.8 cm. The right and left fallopian tubes measured 5.5 cm and 5 cm in length, respectively.
